Mr. Wood received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina and specialized in geotechnical engineering with course work in environmental engineering.  He has worked in the geotechnical and environmental engineering fields for the past twelve years.  While receiving his Master of Engineering Degree he worked as an Engineering Assistant and Staff Engineer.  Mr. Wood also served as the laboratory instructor for the soils laboratory while he attended Graduate School.  He has extensive experience in soil testing in addition to other materials testing applications.  Prior to joining Joel E. Wood & Associates, Mr. Wood progressed from staff engineer to head of engineering services for a local geotechnical, environmental, and materials testing firm.  Mr. Wood currently is president of Joel E. Wood & Associates and is in charge of the geotechnical and environmental services and quality assurance on all services provided by Joel E. Wood & Associates.
